Traditional clothing: Shirts and trousers is preferred by the males of the region. Women on the other hand prefer the traditional Indian attire ‘Sari’. Muslim women also use veil to cover their faces.

Traditional way of Life: Majority population of Roorkee is well educated. Most of the people therefore are working for State and Central Government.

Roorkee also has a booming Drawing and Survey Instrument Industry and as such a large chunk of the population is also engaged in this trade.

Remaining are involved in cultivation. Particularly of sugarcane, though wheat, paddy and vegetables are also grown.
